The heart of Tuscany
Campo dei Lupi is an extraordinary estate in the heart of Tuscany. Located in the medieval town of Vicopisano, our 100-hectar (275 acres) estate resides on a vast hill, hedged by olive groves and cypress tree woods and maritime pines fragrant with the scents of the Mediterranean scrub, lavender, rosemary, broom, and myrtle. The surrounding peace and tranquility make the villa an unparalleled Italian paradise where you can relax and enjoy the country life, as well as explore the nearby historical sites in Pisa and Lucca, just thirty minutes away, or Florence, just an hour drive. Campo dei Lupi is a family-run farm with 4 lovely apartments, respectful of the environment and blessed with bountiful sources of natural spring water.
The property has innumerable fruit trees, a variety of ancient purple pears, many types of cherries including the spectacular railways, apricots, green and gold plums, peaches, hazelnuts, walnuts, quince, figs, sour cherries, apple, persimmons...The jams with these fruits are exceptional.
We have our own vegetable garden where we grow many vegetables that we use together with our guests: tomatoes, zucchini, eggplants, cucumbers, squashes, onions, cabbage, fennel, and basil. We also have a small vineyard of Cabernet Franc that produces a few bottles of ruby colored wine, to be tasted in special moments.
Many charming spots to stop to read a book on an oak wood bench, sip water from the spring, sit by the small pond wherein the spring families of mallards migrate and water lilies bloom, or walk the characteristic hand-made stone paths that connect all the accommodations. The numerous paths throughout the estate can be covered on foot or by bicycle, which connect the property with many picturesque localities, Calci, Monte Serra, Buti, Vicopisano.
The owners live in the main villa and are always available and organize dinners in a warm, comfortable atmosphere. Guests are encouraged to walk the fruit orchard and vegetable garden to taste the intense flavors of Tuscany. The farm produces mainly organic extra virgin olive oil that guests can taste and also buy. Parking is reserved inside the private property.
The Campo dei Lupi farmhouse lies off a typical Tuscan white road in the Monti Pisani area, about 200 meters above sea level. The estate boasts panoramic views of the Medieval Village of Vicopisano, the famous Brunelleschi fortifications, and the main crop: the olive tree. Secular plants surround the whole property and with their century of history witness the productive and cultural traditions, the hard work, and the magnificent result.
